LI NGOU

Grandmaster Li Nqou was a top disciple of the Five Tigers in China. Because of his loyalty and great qualifications Li Nqou was selected  by Jow Biu to head up the Jow Ga branch in Gio-Gian. He later accompanied Jow Biu to Hong Kong to help set up branches there. After Jow Biu’s passing Lee Ngou was recognized as his successor and was reveared as being one of  the top Kung Fu masters in Hong Kong.  When Queen Elizabeth made her first visit to Hong Kong, Li Ngou was selected to lead the Jow Families 300 member Lion Dance Team in the Parade.  In 1971 Li Ngou led the Jow Ga fighting team in the 2nd Annual Southeast Martial Arts Competition held in Sinagpore, where students won several gold and silver medals.

In the early seventies Li Ngou visited Sifu Dean Chin and the Jow Ga Kung Fu Asssocation in the United States. Sifu Deric Mims remembers his visit and fondly relates a story regarding Lee Ngou’s power.

Li Ngou was giving a lesson on the Double Butterfly Palm technique “Woo Dip Sow” and instructed a young Deric Mims to throw a kick and punch combination. Sifu Mims barely remembers his attack being blocked, only being hit and lifted in the air from force and knocked completely across the classroom.
